JS XI v Ellon Thistle
Division Two North
Hazlehead based JS XI ended Ellon Thistle's long unbeaten away league record that stretches back to August last year. The Jags went down by the odd goal in seven and with the exception of a short spell early in the second half, they looked unlikely to take anything from the game.
The visitors gifted their opponents a two goal lead in the first half but a Cammy Davidson header brought them back into the game just before the interval. A half time bollocking seemed to have the desired effect as Thistle were quick out the blocks in the second half and pulled level thanks to another header, this time from Billy Dailly.
But no sooner had Ellon equalised, JS regained the advantage and went on to increase their lead to 4-2 and all but seal the three points. The Jags misery was compounded when goalkeeper Daniel Adamson was sent off for the second time this season for denying a goal scoring opportunity. Jamie McNeil assumed goalkeeping duties and his first involvement was to make a comfortable save from the resultant free kick.
David McKeitch pegged the home side back with a goal in the closing stages but it would not be enough to prolong Ellon's fine record on their travels.
